PROFESSIONAL PLAYER BIO
Jon Elmore is a skilled American point guard known for his scoring ability, playmaking, and unique path to professional basketball. Born December 20, 1995, in Charleston, West Virginia, Elmore developed into one of the most decorated players in Conference USA history during his collegiate career at Marshall University.
Elmore began his college journey in an unconventional way, joining Marshall as a walk-on before quickly earning a scholarship and becoming the centerpiece of the program. Over four seasons, he emerged as one of the nation’s most productive guards, earning three consecutive First Team All-Conference USA selections and leading the Thundering Herd to a Conference USA Tournament championship in 2018, where he was named tournament MVP. He also helped guide Marshall to an NCAA Tournament upset victory over Wichita State, finishing with 27 points in the game. By the end of his senior season, Elmore had surpassed 2,000 career points and became the all-time leader in both scoring and assists in Conference USA history—an extremely rare dual achievement.
After going undrafted in 2019, Elmore launched his professional career overseas, gaining experience in Italy, Greece, Hungary, and Lithuania. His international stops helped refine his game as a versatile guard capable of scoring and facilitating at a high level.
Elmore later transitioned to the NBA G League, where he has played for teams including the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Cleveland Charge, and Stockton Kings. During the 2025–26 season with Stockton, he averaged 13.8 points and 6.1 assists per game, showcasing his ability to run an offense and create opportunities for teammates.
At 6-foot-3, Elmore combines toughness, court vision, and scoring instincts, making him a reliable floor general with a proven track record of production at every level.
