CALGARY SURGE ANNOUNCE EXPANDED PARTNERSHIP WITH AGLC FOR 2025 CEBL SEASON

May 9, 2025

MAY 9 – The Calgary Surge and Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) are excited to announce an expanded partnership ahead of the 2025 CEBL season. The new deal gives AGLC the opportunity to increase GameSense messaging and images throughout WinSport Event Centre and the Scotiabank Saddledome for Surge home games.

“The addition of the GameSense program’s responsible gambling messaging is extremely welcomed by the Calgary Surge,” said Surge Senior Vice President, Dylan Howe. “Their commitment to promoting healthy habits ensures our fans are receiving credible and useful information that will ultimately result in greater social responsibility and improvements to wellbeing.”

GameSense is AGLC’s responsible gambling program and helps players make healthy gambling choices while playing at casinos and racing entertainment centres and online. Providing tools and resources for healthier gambling habits, GameSense also offers the ability to learn the games and the odds at GameSenseAB.ca.

“After establishing a relationship between Play Alberta and the Calgary Surge last year, we’re incredibly excited to see that partnership expand this season, with GameSense joining the roster” said Dan Keene, Vice President, Gaming, AGLC. “With a greater focus today on responsible gambling, GameSense’s own unique partnership with the Surge will allow for fans to discover healthier ways to play, both on and off the court, during the 2025 season.”

Fans can expect to see GameSense featured through in-arena messaging, digital content, and interactive activations that engage and educate in a fun, fan-first environment.
