APRIL 23 – The Calgary Surge are proud to announce the re-signing of guard Sean “Rugzy”Miller-Moore for the 2025 CEBL season. Entering his third season with the Surge, the 6’5”Brampton native has been a cornerstone of the franchise since its inaugural season, bringing elite athleticism, defensive intensity, and veteran leadership to the court. Miller-Moore has been named to the CEBL All-Canadian Teams in both 2023 and 2024, underscoring his consistent impact on the league. In the 2023 season, he started all 23 regular season and playoff games, leading the team with averages of 16.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. In the 2024 season, Miller-Moore put up 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists across 22 regular season and playoff games. His consistent performance has been instrumental in propelling the Surge to back-to-back CEBL Championship Weekend appearances in their first two seasons. “Rugzy is everything you want in a competitor,” said Surge General Manager Shane James. “He plays with heart, he leads by example, and he gives you 100% every time he steps on the floor. APRIL 21 — The Calgary Surge of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Tuesday that they have signed Abu Kigab, a 6-foot-7 forward from St. Catharines, Ontario, for the 2025 season. Kigab, a dynamic and experienced two-way player, brings a unique blend of scoring, defense, and leadership to Calgary. The former Canadian National Team standout has spent the last three seasons competing professionally in Canada, Slovakia, and Germany, averaging 14.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game across all competitions. Most recently, Kigab signed with PS Karlsruhe Lions of Germany’s ProA league after a stint with MLP Academics Heidelberg in the Basketball Bundesliga, where he averaged 8.6 points per game over 12 appearances. In 2023, he played for Spišskí Rytieri in the Slovak Basketball League, leading the team in scoring with 19.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Kigab also has CEBL experience with both the Ottawa BlackJacks and Niagara River Lions. Kigab began his NCAA career at Oregon before transferring to Boise State, where he became a cornerstone of the Broncos’ program. In 2021–22, he was named Mountain West Championship MVP, helping Boise State claim the conference title while averaging 14.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. A dual citizen of Canada and Sudan, Kigab was born in Khartoum and moved to Canada at age nine. APRIL 16 - The Calgary Surge are pleased to announce the signing of forward Stefan Jankovic for the 2025 CEBL season. A 6’11” versatile big man, Jankovic brings eight years of professional experience and an impressive international resume to Calgary’s frontcourt. Born in Belgrade, Serbia and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Jankovic has averaged 13.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game across his pro career. Most recently, he played for the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan’s T1 League, where he averaged 17.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game while leading the team in scoring and rebounding. In 2022–2023, he competed with BahçeÅŸehir Koleji in Turkey’s top-tier Basketbol Süper Ligi, providing strong frontcourt production and floor spacing. Prior to that, he had stints with AEK Athens in Greece and with Mega Basket and KK Igokea in Serbia and Bosnia, respectively, averaging double-digit scoring and offering veteran leadership. Jankovic began his professional career in 2016 after signing with the Miami Heat as an undrafted free agent in the NBA. He went on to play in the NBA G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Lakeland Magic, averaging 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds across two seasons. At the collegiate level, Jankovic played for the University of Missouri (2012–2013) and the University of Hawaii (2013–2016). During his junior year at Hawaii, he averaged 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game and was named Big West Player of the Year while leading the program to its first-ever NCAA Tournament win. APRIL 14 — The Calgary Surge of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Tuesday that they have signed Olumide Adelodun, a 6-foot-5 guard from Calgary, Alberta, for the upcoming 2025 season. The signing marks a special moment for the Surge organization, as Adelodun returns to his hometown to begin his professional basketball journey. A standout performer in the NCAA and U SPORTS, the 21-year-old brings athleticism, defensive versatility, and high-efficiency scoring to the Surge roster. Adelodun recently completed a breakout year at Winona State University, where he averaged 13.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while shooting nearly 40% from beyond the arc. He led the Warriors in rebounding and put up a season-high 23 points against Minnesota State. He is currently enrolled at Niagara University, where he is expected to take on a larger offensive role in the 2024–25 season. Before transferring to Winona State, Adelodun spent two seasons at Ohio University in the NCAA, developing his game and gaining valuable experience in a competitive Division I environment. His college career averages stand at 10.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. “Olumide is a player who’s flown under the radar but is ready to make an immediate impact,” said Surge General Manager Shane James. “He’s an explosive athlete with a high motor, and his return to Calgary adds a meaningful connection to our community. We’re excited to see him thrive in front of a hometown crowd.” Adelodun began his basketball journey at Bishop O'Byrne High School in Calgary, where he led the team in both scoring and rebounding during his senior year and earned a reputation as one of Alberta’s top prospects.
