This summer, the Calgary Surge & The City of Calgary's Downtown Strategy team have partnered to bring
FREE youth basketball clinics and a SURGE CITY 3-ON-3 TOURNAMENT to the heart of our city.
Hoop in the heart of the city
Get ready to hoop in the heart of the city! Join us for free basketball clinics every Tuesday and Saturday from July through October, hosted at the Century Gardens Basketball Courts (826 8 Avenue SW). Open to youth ages 9 to 17, these clinics are all about building skills, boosting confidence, and having fun on the court—whether you're a beginner or looking to take your game to the next level. Surrounded by the downtown energy and led by experienced coaches, this is your chance to train, play, and grow in one of Calgary’s most iconic outdoor spaces.
High-Energy 3-on-3 Tournament
The Calgary Surge, in partnership with the City of Calgary, is bringing the energy downtown with a full-day 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Sunday, July 20, at West Eau Claire Park. This is a co-ed 3-X-3 tournament for partipatns older than 16+. For $150 per team (max of 5 players), participants are guaranteed four games, receive a custom Surge 3x3 jersey, and get two tickets to a 2025 Surge game.
Alongside the tournament, fans can enjoy a live DJ, food vendors, Surge merchandise and ticketing information, and exciting contests like the 3-point shootout, half-court shot challenge, and a custom Surge sneaker giveaway. Surge players will also be making appearances throughout the day, making this more than just a tournament—it's a summer community celebration open to all, whether you're on the court or cheering from the sidelines

1st of each month at 9AM MT, registration will open for the second two weeks of the same month. For example, on August 1st registration opens for August 15-31.
On the
15th of each month at 9AM MT, registration will open for the first two weeks of the following months. For example, on July 15th, registration opens for August 1-14.
