Apr 23, 2024

April 23, 2024 – Zeno Renewables (Zeno) will remain the Official Title Sponsor of the Calgary Surge through the 2027 season after signing an extension to the landmark multi-year deal the team announced Tuesday.

"The commitment Zeno Renewables has made to the Calgary Surge speaks volumes about the growth of the company and the impact it strives to have in all four corners of our city,” said Surge Vice-Chairman and President, Jason Ribeiro. “Our partnership represents a significant step forward for the business of professional basketball across Canada and the growth of the sport amongst youth and families,” continued Ribeiro.

Zeno is a leading solar solutions company that installs high-quality solar panels and sustainable energy solutions on homes. Led by Co-Chief Executive Officers Kai Fahrion and Gursh Bal, Zeno has ambitious plans to install solar solutions on 1 million homes by 2040. Since its inception in 2015, Calgary-based Zeno has been focused on creating a more sustainable planet and giving back to the communities it operates in.

“Being the Official Title Sponsor of the Calgary Surge is a big point of pride for our company. The Surge’s inaugural season surpassed all our expectations and the organization’s steadfast commitment to community just shows we have been value-aligned since day one,” said Kai Fahrion, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Zeno. “Our team at Zeno have enjoyed engaging thousands of fans through this partnership and growing our brand awareness in Calgary, Alberta, and throughout Canada. That journey continues when the Surge open the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season on May 21st in front of a national audience we know
is demanding solar energy solutions.”

“Zeno's residential solar solutions resonate with the Calgary Surge's fan base because both represent investments into a brighter tomorrow for future generations, where solar energy parallels basketball's spirit of sustainability and community empowerment”, said Gursh Bal, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Zeno.

Zeno's ambitious plan to install solar on 1 million homes by 2040 across Canada not only positions it as the most recognized and trusted solar brand but also promises to significantly reduce Canadian's electrical carbon emissions at a residential level by over 10%, catalyzing a sustainable energy revolution nationwide. The title sponsorship with the Calgary Surge has further enhanced this vision, providing invaluable benefits and insights to support the company's mission towards a greener future.

As part of the multi-year extension, the Zeno logo will continue to be featured on all official Calgary Surge New Era player jersey kits and now fan replicas as well. Fans can look forward to Zeno’s dedicated and energetic presence on game days at WinSport Event Centre and across all Surge online channels.
