Building on the success of the league’s first neutral-site regular season game, the Calgary Surge will return to Red Deer’s Marchant Crane Centrium for SURGE 2 RED DEER for the second consecutive year.


The team will face the Edmonton Stingers on Sunday, May 31 at 4:00 PM, welcoming fans from across the province.

  • Why is the June 19th game being relocated to Red Deer?

    This relocation is part of our efforts to expand professional basketball across Alberta and ensure audiences in the surrounding Calgary region have an opportunity to attend a Surge game. Westerner Park Centrium in Red Deer will provide a neutral location for our Battle of Alberta game against the Edmonton Stingers and ensure both fanbases have an opportunity to attend.

  • What happens to my current season ticket for this game?

    You have the first opportunity to claim an equivalent WinSport seat at the Westerner Park Centrium at no additional cost as part of your season ticket package.

  • How do I select my seats?

    You will have an exclusive window to claim your seat based on your tenure with the team.  You will receive an email with your selection window and a link to choose your seat.

  • What if I’m a courtside season ticket holder?

    Courtside STMs will be automatically assigned premium seats by our Surge ticketing team.

  • Can I purchase additional tickets at my season ticket rate?

    Yes! You’ll have an exclusive pre-sale opportunity to buy extra tickets before they go on sale to the general public.

  • What does "tenure with the team" mean?

    Tenure with the team refers to how long you have been a Calgary Surge Season Ticket Member (STM). The longer you have been a STM, the earlier your priority window will be to select your seat for Surge 2 Red Deer at the Westerner Park Centrium arena.


    • Founding STMs (since 2023): First access to seat selection.

    • Renewed 2024 STMs: Second priority window.

    • New 2025 STMs: Third priority window.

    This ensures our most loyal members get first choice when selecting their equivalent seats for this special event.

  • What if I don’t select my seats in time?

    We recommend selecting your seats as soon as your window opens to ensure you get the best available option.

  • Will my season tickets be in the same location as usual?

    The Westerner Park Centrium has a different layout than WinSport, but we will do our best to match your equivalent seating category when you claim your seat.

  • When do single game tickets go on sale to the public?

    We will announce the public on-sale date soon, but STMs will have early access.

  • Will there be transportation provided to Red Deer?

     We are considering offering round-trip transportation from WinSport to Red Deer for a nominal fee. If you are interested, please contact [email protected] 

  • How do I use my game credit if I do not attend?

    The credit will automatically be added to your Surge account and can be applied to:


    • Additional 2025 regular-season tickets

    • A 2025 home playoff game (if hosted)

    • Your 2026 season ticket renewal

    This credit must be used within your account and cannot be transferred or refunded.

  • Can I use my Flex Pack tickets for the game in Red Deer?

    Yes, Flex Pack tickets purchased through the Calgary Surge can be redeemed for the Red Deer game. However, seat selection will be subject to availability and will not follow the priority access process designated for Season Ticket Members.
