Tournament Format & Rules

This is 1-on-1 basketball at its rawest. No teammates to lean on, no excuses. Just you, your opponent, and the crowd.

●Scoring System:

     ○ 1 point for any made basket inside the arc

     ○ 2 points for any made basket beyond the arc

● Game Length: First to 7 points OR 5-minute running clock, whichever comes first

● Shot Clock: 12 seconds per possession — keep it moving

● Possession:

     ○ First possession is decided by rock-paper-scissors. Winner chooses to take the ball or defer.

     ○ After every made basket, foul, or dead ball, the ball is checked behind the arc at the top.

● Overtime: If tied when the clock runs out, the game goes to sudden death — first basket wins. Possession goes to the player who did not start with the ball in regulation.

● Referees oversee all fouls and gameplay.

● Standard personal fouls apply — excessive contact can lead to disqualification.

● Unsportsmanlike conduct (trash talk crossing the line, fighting, disrespecting refs) results in immediate ejection.

● Players are responsible for showing up ready. Failure to appear within 2 minutes of your scheduled game is a forfeit.

● Winner’s Bracket: Win and keep advancing. Last player standing takes the trophy.

● Survivor's Bracket: Lose your first game? You’re not done yet. Fight your way through the second bracket for redemption and prizes.

● Elimination: Lose twice and you’re out.

● Every registered player is guaranteed a minimum of 2 games.

● With Winner’s and Survivor's Brackets, every matchup matters — whether you’re fighting for the title or clawing back for bragging rights.
